Most guys wear a combination of black, navy and grey in their everyday uniforms. There’s nothing wrong with that – as far as menswear’s concerned, tried and tested is a far safer option than trial and error. When we were putting together our Little Brother Spring/Summer collection, getting colour in there was a non-negotiable. If you’ve browsed the range, you’ll see there’s no black; some navy; a dusting of grey. There is, however, plenty of colour: Mustard yellow, blood red, sky blue, and olive green – a rainbow of hues, all of which can be safely paired with garments of subtler shades. Our old mate Simon here is wearing the olive Burnside blazer with the blue Worker shirt and bone Burnside pants. Try it at home; you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the results. And just in case you were worrying that shirt was a little plain, take a closer look – it’s covered in tiny speckles of colour, including blue, red, green and yellow. As with all good looks, the devil’s in the details.

  6. Our Creative Director Isaac Hindin-Miller lives in New York and travels frequently for work. Wherever he goes, his Mum always tells him, “Your grandmothers miss you. Send them a postcard.” The reality is, he’s bought about a billion but never posted a single one; this is his attempt at making it up to them both. Presenting WISH YOU WERE HERE… New York City Edition, dedicated to Nana Shirley. Printed on our State Sweater, cut in the signature, slim Little Brother fit. Too little too late? Here’s hoping not.

  7. Nothing beats a good grey marl crewneck sweater. Zach Morris knew it, Rocky Balboa knew it, and us guys here at Little Brother know it too. We also know that fit is everything, which is why we cut ours slim through the shoulder and arm, and cropped-boxy in the body: It’s as tailored as you’d expect, but it’s still very much a casual garment. It’s also one of those pieces that your girlfriend, sister or roommate is going to want to steal just about every day of the week (don’t get angry if it looks better on her than you, it’s just one of life’s little mysteries). Throw it on over a tee or button down shirt, with a pair of LB Walk Shorts, Burnside Pants or your favourite jeans; push up the sleeves, tie it around your waist and don’t forget to hide it from your lady-friends. And that’s all we have to say about that.
